It’s OK to share the problems, and tell you what you need to do but exactly how can you do these things? That, for me, is what is often missing from ‘advice and guidance’ self-help articles. Recently there was self help week promoted by the NHS. What did you hear about it and what did you do – for yourself or help someone else to help themself?
In my work – 1:1 or group work – I try to offer specific tools and tips, actions to take, behaviours to adopt/learn and how, and techniques to practice to get you there. This is essential in any learning situation – and self-esteem is no exception.
